Job Specification / Description
£26,000+ (dependent on experience)
About the role:
The role of Creative Lead is unique to Squashed Robot and represents the way in which we ensure that all of our clients receive the same, high quality, creative and strategic content and outstanding customer service that we are known for. We call this The Squashed Robot Way and it is what sets us apart from the many other creative agencies, video production companies and photographers – you would of course receive full training and orientation on the ways we work with our clients, how we develop relationships and how we ensure world class project delivery.
The role is a combination of Producer, Director and Account Manager/Business Development Manager, whereby you will get to know your client portfolio on a personal level, ensuring that any work we do for them is accurately aligned with their objectives, requirements and budget. You will also be responsible for developing new working relationships with clients and suppliers. You will initiate a project with a fact finding session with the client, following this, working with the rest of the creative team, create a costed proposal which gets submitted to the client. You will then oversee any pre-production, filming, photography or design consultation, keeping the client updated throughout the whole process, into post production to ensure that the best possible outcome is achieved.
You must be able to come up with creative ideas and approaches whilst being sensitive to the aims of the project, you must also be able to manage a team of multi-skilled creatives who will be collaborating on any given project. You must be able to ensure that deadlines are met (or exceeded). All of these responsibilities are coordinated via a number of software platforms:
- Monday.com (project and workflow management)
- Hubspot (Client relationship management & sales)
- Qwilr (production of interactive project proposals)
- Google Workspace (documents)
You will be working as part of a wider creative team, reporting to the Creative Director and while this is not a sales role, KPIs will be used to ensure effective use of time and resources as well as ensuring that our revenue goals are met. We are strong believers in collaborative working, so despite having key responsibilities for a given client – you wouldn’t be expected to work alone. In this regard you may also be asked for contributions, ideas and brainstorming on other clients and projects to which you aren’t specifically assigned.
The projects you will be working on will range in size and complexity from simple, social media posts or single camera shoots where you may be required to complete the project yourself, or larger, full scale commercial projects or ongoing retainer relationships with key clients where you would have an entire creative production team at your disposal.
This role will predominantly be based at Squashed Robot HQ (currently 4 Royal Crescent, Cheltenham) with normal hours being 08:30 – 17:30, Monday to Friday – however where required you will need to be on location of the shoot, this may fall outside of normal office hours.
Squashed Robot is a firm believer in personal development and career progression – this will be dictated by your skill, passion and performance with multiple routes to develop your career through the business.
Continued Professional Development
As mentioned above we expect all of our staff (and Directors) to continually improve and develop their skills over time. We expect an ongoing level of this to happen both formally in terms of specific training, attending courses (either physically or online) and self motivated training and development such as watching relevant YouTube videos and reading relevant articles. This is particularly applicable to continually developed software applications, camera technology and filming techniques.
In the first instance we would suggest that this CPD would focus on developing your understanding of the current equipment most regularly used at Squashed Robot.
